As a graduate of the Sports Journalism post-grad program at Loyalist College, I can certainly say I'm living the dream.
I may not be making millions but I have the pleasure of cvering various sports to make a living. The fact that I can go to an event and write about it is certainly a dream job and not once have I ever attended a hockey game or any other sporting event I've covered and felt like I was at work.
I cover a lot of sports, including the major ones like baseball, basketball, football and hockey. I've also been able to cover some more obscure sports like curling (well, obscure outside Canada anyway) and even dog-sledding - nothing like getting out of bed before the sun comes up on the coldest day of the winter and spending it outside.
My first love when it comes to sports is hockey and that's the basis of Future Greats. I get to cover a lot of junior hockey and college hockey with a lot of other levels as well and decided to put my love and my skills to good use by running Future Greats.
As for hockey experience I've written for a number of different places since I started in this business including FOXSports.com, McKeen's Hockey and I spent some time as an intern at The Hockey News.
I have also worked with the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds as a statistician as well as a staff writer.
