The Lewiston Maineiacs have certainly made some splashes in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Just days after acquiring all-star goaltender Olivier Roy from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, the Maineiacs acquired the first overall pick in the QMJHL draft on Saturday in a three-team trade.
The trade overshadowed a number of moves on draft day, which included the Maineiacs sending Roy to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for the fifth overall pick, a second round pick and third round pick on Saturday as well as a fifth round pick next year and a first round pick in 2012.
The Maineiacs acquired the first pick in exchange for 19-year-old Marc-Andre Carre and first round picks in 2013 and 2014. Lewiston then sent the fifth overall pick, acquired from Acadie Bathurst, along with their second, third and fifth round picks, and the Titan's first round pick in 2012 to Baie Comeau in exchange for the Drakkar's second round pick and first round pikcs in 2013 and 2014.
With the pick, the Maineiacs selected defenseman Dillon Fournier. The Halifax Mooseheads held the second pick and selected winger Luca Ciampini. With the third pick, Chicoutimi selected defenseman Dominic Poulin. Val d'Or selected goaltender Francois Tremblay. Baie Comeau rounded out the top five by selecting centre Frederick Gamelin.

Baie Comeau traded down in the draft after GM Steve Ahern said on Friday he would trade down if highly-touted Michael Matheson's vow to go to the NCAA seemed legit.
Halifax caught the attention of some when they used their second round pick on centre Darcy Ashley. Ashley has a committment to Maine.
The trade of the top pick overshadowed a couple other big deals on draft day.
Shawinigan dealt Nashville Predators second rounder Charles Olivier Roussel to Montreal in exchange for a pair of players along with two draft picks.
Montreal also acquired the rights to Harvard (NCAA) forward, and Montreal Canadiens prospect Louis Leblanc. Montreal acquired his rights, along with a third round pick next year in exchange for Guillaume Asselin and a first round pick next year.
