Sean Monahan scored the game-winning goal and set up another as the Mississauga Rebels defeated the Toronto Marlies 2-1 in the OHL Cup championship.
Brett Gustavsen scored the Rebels other goal in the win while Kyle Soman scored the lone goal for the Marlies.
To get to the final, the Rebels defeated the TPH Thunder 5-3 in the semi-final earlier in the day. Monahan paced the Rebels with three goals and two assists in the win while Zachary Fung scored the Rebels other two goals. Gustavsen set up three goals in the win.
Nick Cyr, Mitchell Eisenberg and Chase Suprek scored for the Thunder.
The Marlies defeated the York Simcoe Express in their semi-final match. Anthony Cortellessa and Matia Marcantuoni scored for the Marlies while Gabriel Greco scored the lone goal for the Express.
