The Russian-based Kontinental Hockey League held their first draft of players aged 17 to 20.
Among the 91 players selected in the draft were a number of OHL players.
Selected were:
- Evgeny Molotilov (Guelph) by Atlant 11th overall
- Jaroslav Janus (Erie) by Lokomotiv 42nd overall
- Zack Kassian (Peterborough) by Dynamo Moscow 56th overall
- Erik Gudbranson (Kingston) by Dynamo Moscow 62nd overall
- Sergei Sheleg (Sudbury) by Dynamo Minsk 70th overall
- Michal Jordan (Plymouth) by SKA 80th overall
- Andris Dzerins (Kingston) by Dinamo Riga 82nd overall
- Taylor Hall (Windsor) by AK BArs 89th overall
