NHL Draft

6:57 - Minutes to the first pick...Islanders are on the clock...Tavares, Hedman or Duchene? Oh and btw, if Brian Burke reads this (which I doubt he does) could you fix your tie for me, please?

7:04 - Pronger to Philly. Wow. With Neidermayer announcing he's planning on playing another year, it makes sense. Interesting start to the night

7:13 - Gary Bettman opens the night. Great job on your French Gary

7:17 - New York Islanders select John Tavares. That should make the 10,000 fans at Nassau Colliseum pretty happy

7:24 - Details are starting to come out for the Pronger deal. Pronger to Philly for Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa and a pair of first round picks (this year and next year)

7:26 - Tampa Bay selects Victor Hedman. Can we expect Matt Duchene to go to Colorado now?

7:38 - Matt Duchene to the Avs. With the possibility of Sakic retiring soon, he will be a great piece to the puzzle

7:41 - Further details on the Philly/Anaheim trade. Ryan Dingle is also on his way to Anaheim while a conditional third round pick in 2010 or 2011

7:44 - Prior to the Thrashers making their pick Gord Miller mentions that "The Thrashers need help." Really? Evander Kane of the Vancouver Giants is the newest member of the team

7:59 - TSN is reporting that Columbus and the Islanders are going to flip their first round picks. The Islanders are moving the 26th pick to Columbus for the 16th pick

8:01 - Phoenix selects Oliver Ekman-Larsson. A solid player but may be a bit of a reach.

8:09 - Gee, the Leafs are well liked in Montreal. Nazem Kadri of the London Knights is the latest pick. Great job by Brian Burke asking Brian Murray of Ottawa if they were planning on taking Kadri and then making it know that the Leafs were going to select him at seven

8:18 - Dallas selectd Brandon's Scott Glennie

8:26 - With Kadri off the board, the Senators select Jared Cowen

8:35 - The Edmonton Oilers select Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson

8:44 - Nashville takes Ryan Ellis of the Windsor Spitfires

8:52 - The Islanders move up again. After picking up the 16th pick from Columbus, they trade it to Minnesota for th 12th pick. The Islanders use the pick to take Calvin de Haan. Kind of high but a good pick
